FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What kind of wood do you use?
Typically I use local pine from here in Arizona. Sometime Cedar, or Alligator Juniper (both also local). I only use dead trees, or trees that have already fallen down. I never use live trees.
  • Will it crack?
If your carving doesn't crack, i ill send you one that will. That's the short way of saying... Yes. It will crack. That's part of the rustic art charm. To prevent tooooo many cracks, here are some tips. 1. Keep your carving out of direct sunlight. 2. Keep it somewhere where the climate stays relatively the same, i.e. indoors. Although you can keep it outdoors as well, which brings me to my next tip. 3. If you're going to keep it outdoors, once or twice a year coat it with a good layer of oil based polyurethane, or clear spray paint. This will help keep it sealed, and help prevent cracking.
  • How long does it take to ship after i order?
There are two answers, depending on what type of item you ordered. 1. A made to order carving or piece of clothing - These i make after you've placed the order, and typically take me between 1-2 weeks to ship, depending on the volume of orders. (Holiday season it may take even longer). 2. A finished carving - My finished carvings go out much quicker. Typically 2-4 business days.
